Recently, researcher Xu Xiwei, President of the National Institute of Natural Hazards of the Ministry of Emergency Management of the People’s Republic of China, and researcher Shen Xuhui, chief engineer, led a team to the Institute of Urban Systems Engineering of BJAST to exchange and discuss the technology of urban disaster prevention, reduction and relief. Researcher Zhu Wei, director of the Institute of Systems Engineering, presided over the meeting, with the participation of relevant scientific research backbones.

At the meeting, the Institute of Urban Systems reported on the development of scientific research, scientific research achievements, scientific and technological services and talent training. Subsequently, they had in-depth discussions and exchanges on how to accumulate basic data for urban disaster prevention and control, scenario construction and deduction, construction of monitoring and early warning technology system, preparation of emergency plan guidelines, disaster site investigation and project cooperation direction based on their advantages.

Through this discussion, the two sides improved their profession understanding and exchanged views on key and difficult issues in the research and application of achievements in the field of urban disaster prevention and control, which laid a solid foundation for future cooperation in areas such as the improvement of urban resilience.
