On 10^th of December, the BJAST and the Urumqi Municipal People's Government signed a strategic cooperation agreement online.

According to the agreement, the two parties would focus on the construction goals and development needs of the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt, and use Urumqi as a bridge and link to jointly promote technological cooperation and exchanges in the “Belt and Road” initiative. In terms of high-end think tanks, talent training, popularization of science, international cooperation, etc., they would jointly innovate cooperation models, strengthen scientific and technological cooperation between the city and academies, and promote the improvement of the level of scientific and technological innovation in Urumqi.

Shao Jinwen, the vice president of the BJAST, and Zhao Li, the deputy mayor of Urumqi Municipal People's Government, signed a strategic agreement respectively on behalf of the BJAST and the Urumqi Municipal People's Government .
