On September 19th, Global Science and Technology Innovation Think Tank Forum of 2020ZGC Forum was held in the Conference Center of ZGC.

This forum adopted a mode of "online and offline". It was hosted by Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (BJAST) and other institutions, organized by Beijing Science and Technology Strategic Decision Consulting Center (BJAST Think Tank) and Beijing Exchange Center of Science and Technology (BECST). Experts and leaders from scientific research institutions, well-known universities, and international organizations of 9 countries (China, United States, United Kingdom, Russia, etc.) conducted seminars on four major themes, including the development trend of global technological innovation. More than 80 domestic and foreign experts, scholars, government officials and media reporters attended the forum.

Fang Li, Secretary of the Party Group of BJAST, pointed out in the opening speech theme of the forum was "Gathering Global Wisdom to Lead Technological Innovation: the Voice of Global High Level Think Tanks" which was determined to fight the epidemic together. Well-known experts and scholars from world-renowned think tanks was invited to provide new ideas for global technological innovation and cooperation, world epidemic prevention and control, and modern urban governance.

Du Feijin, member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal People's Congress and Minister of the Publicity Department, and Li Ping, member of the Party Group of Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China and President of Science and Technology Daily attended the forum and delivered speeches. Du Feijin put forward suggestions on how to play the role of think tank in technological innovation. Three international experts, including the Executive Chairman of the School of Manufacturing Engineering, University of Warwick, sent video speeches.

In the keynote speech session, 9 experts and scholars including Han Qide, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, vice chairman of 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and honorary chairman of China Association for Science and Technology, were invited to give keynote speeches on science technology and health. Twelve leaders and guests including Du Feijin, member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal People's Congress and Minister of the Publicity Department, launched the inaugural ceremony of the Zhongguancun Global High-end Think Tank Alliance. The alliance was proposed by BJAST and jointly initiated by 18 think tanks at home and abroad.

In the high-end dialogue session, experts such as Zhang Jianyu, vice president of US Environmental Protection Association and chief representative of the Beijing representative office, conducted dialogue on the topic of "global economic development trends and cooperation prospects in the post-epidemic era".

In the closing speech, Zheng Huanmin stated that the results of the forum will promote Beijing's construction of a modern economic system and a scientific and technological innovation governance system, and will be of great significance for new think tanks to gather global wisdom and lead the construction of a national scientific and technological innovation center.
