Lately, the delegation led by Yuan Chang’an, Secretary of Guangxi Academy of Sciences (GXAS), conducts a survey and exchanges in BJAST. Secretary Fang Li and President Zheng Huanmin of BJAST preside over the meeting.

Vice President Shao Jinwen accompanies the delegation’s survey in BJAST’s Modern Manufacturing Technology Industrial Park. In the afternoon’s discussion, Vice President Liu Qingjun introduces BJAST’s promotion for comprehensive reform and innovative development with the responsibility of serving Beijing’s strategic objectives. The two sides exchange ideas on stimulating the innovation vitality of scientific and technical personnel.

The purpose of this survey is to implement Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region’s requirement on learning from the development experience of scientific research institutions in advanced regions in China and thus better handle GXAS’s reform and development, said Yuan Chang’an. According to Zheng Huanmin, building a scientific system is the top priority in current reform work of scientific research institution and the necessity for stronger internal development. A scientific research institution should gain reform vitality, follow the law of scientific research development, study the systems and mechanisms, and establish a set of effective operation systems based on its reality to advance innovative development. Fang Li said that local scientific research institutions play a unique and indispensable role in the national innovation system and reform is an important opportunity for them, making it necessary to further clarify their missions, orientation and direction with reform as an opportunity and innovation as guidance.
