On October 4, a theoretical article, Balance the Upgrading of Traditional Energy-intensive Industries and the Cultivation of Emerging Green Industries, by Professor Guo Guangsheng, Chief Expert of "BJAST Think Tank" and Jia Pinrong, Researcher of the Beijing Research Center for Science of Science, made the headlines of "China Finance" in the 7th edition of the Economic Daily.
The article said that there are some misconceptions in the development process of traditional energy-intensive industries and emerging green industries. On the one hand, it is believed that the development of emerging green industries is to abandon traditional energy-intensive industries and re-establish new industries; on the other hand, some people establish emerging green industries that are not based on traditional industries and blindly launch new industries that aren't tailored to local conditions. Thus, on the relationship between traditional energy-intensive industries and emerging green industries, we must enhance people's awareness and balance the strategic relationship between energy-intensive industries and emerging green industries. Six relationships between upgrading energy-intensive industries and cultivating emerging green industries are disclosed in the paper, namely, strategic interaction, strategic complementarity, strategic integration, strategic coordination, strategic embedding and strategic evolution.
