From September 16th to 17th, the 2023 Beijing National Science Popularization Day at the Beijing Milu Ecological Research Center. The theme is Improving the Scientific Quality of the Whole People and Helping Science and Technology to Become Self-reliant. The event was hosted by the BJAST, with the participation of 9 subordinated institutes of the BJAST, and was divided into six sections: the opening ceremony, popular science lectures, interactive displays, popular science movie, cultural and creative markets, and popular science research.

Wu Jianmin asked the scientific researchers and science popularization personnel of the BJAST to combine scientific and technological innovation with scientific popularization, show the charm of science and technology through multiple channels, and convey their enthusiasm for scientific research. At the same time, he also encouraged participating institutions to actively seek cross-border cooperation with others, and continue to make achievements in content research and development, improve the cultural and creative industry chain, and introduce popularize science into the campus and community, so as to create a brand of BJAST’s Science Popularization with social influence and popularity.

During the special activities, the public participation was highly active, the forms were diverse, and the social influence was large, which fully demonstrated the rich science popularization achievements of the BJAST and was recognized by the general public, with an offline service audience of nearly 8,500 people, and the live broadcast of the "Science First Scene National Science Popularization Day Activity" carried out during the same period covered nearly 1 million online audiences. The BJAST will focus on strengthening the construction of popular science infrastructure, improving the service capacity of popular science venues, promoting the popularization of scientific and technological resources, deepening the popularization of wisdom science, advocating the culture of innovation, promoting the spirit of scientists, improving the scientific quality of the whole people, helping science and technology to become self-reliant and self-reliant, and making greater contributions to Beijing's construction of an International Science and Technology Innovation Center and China's construction of a world science and technology power.
