On September 12, the National Press and Publication Administration announced the list of "Excellent Popular Science Journals", and 20 journals including Amateur Astronomer were selected.

Founded in 1958 and supervised by the China Association for Science and Technology, sponsored by the Chinese Astronomical Society and the Beijing Planetarium, Amateur Astronomer is the earliest and most influential astronomical science journal in China. The purpose of the magazine has always been to track astronomical hot spots, explore the mysteries of the universe, enlighten wisdom and cultivate sentiment.

The magazine has also been widely recognized and highly affirmed by the astronomical community, and is an important window for popularizing astronomical knowledge in China. It will make full use of its own influence, continuously convey the content of astronomical knowledge and positive energy to a wider audience, and contribute to the development of science popularization in the new era.
