• Beijing Plannetarium Held the Acceptance Ceremony of the Replication Project of New Armillary Sphere

    Following the proposal of producing a replica of the Jiheng Fuchen in memory of Sino-Slovenian friendship, Beijing Planetarium held an Instrument Acceptance Ceremony on November 2nd. Zang Zhenyuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Planetarium, and Qi Rui, Deputy Director of the Planetarium, attended the ceremony on behalf of the instrument manufacturer, Wang Shunqing, Chinese Ambassador to the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Suhadonik, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to China, and Zhen Wangda, Deputy Director of the European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

    The ceremony was presided over by Qi Rui, Deputy Director of the planetarium and project leader, who first introduced the implementation and technical difficulties of the replication project to the guests in detail, as well as the active support and promotion of all parties. Su Lan expressed her gratitude to the Chinese side for their efforts in the process of reproducing the Jiheng Fuchen, which will be placed in front of the Slovenian National Archives as a memorial to the Sino-Slovenian friendship to commemorate the long history of scientific and technological cultural exchanges between the two countries. Su Lan expressed the hope that she will continue to strengthen cooperation with China in the fields of science and technology and culture, represented by Liu Songling's related research and exhibitions, and continue to write a new chapter in Sino-Slovenian friendship.

    Finally, Zang Zhenyuan said that the replication project of Jiheng Fuchen is of great significance, which not only commemorates Liu Songling's historic contribution to the development of Sino-Slovenian friendship, but also will continue to play an important role in enhancing the traditional friendship between the two countries. Thanks to the communication of Chinese culture under the BRI, Jiheng Fuchen is a witness to the scientific and cultural exchanges between China and Slovenia, and it is also an opportunity for both sides to strengthen astronomical and historical research, cultural protection and inheritance, and popular science education for young people in the future.
