The year 2020 marks the 20^th anniversary of the National Science Week of China and the 6^th anniversary of the “Belt and Road” Science Week. This year, on August 23, sponsored by the China Science and Technology Exchange Center (CSTEC) and organized by Beijing International Science and Technology Service Center Co., Ltd., the “Belt and Road” Science Week, a major demonstration event of the National Science Week of China, opened in Beijing Planetarium. Director Chen Jiachang and Deputy Director Zhuang Jia of CSTEC and President Zheng Huanmin and Vice President Liu Qingjun of BJAST were present at the exhibition. Zhang Xin, Secretary of Party General Branch of BJAST’s Beijing International Science & Technology Service Center, interpreted for them.

During the discussion, Party Secretary Li Jianwen of Beijing Planetarium introduced the preparation for the “Science Night” to be held on August 25. Chen Jiachang affirmed BJAST’s strong support for and active participation in the National Science Week of China and appreciated its continuing preparation for the “Belt and Road” Science Week even during the COVID-19 pandemic. He hoped that both sides could jointly hold the “Science Night”. Zheng Huanmin briefed on BJAST and the characteristics of its science popularization. He said that the 2020 “Belt and Road” Science Week and the “Science Night” would be organized in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the relevant provisions of the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control in Beijing. The two sides looked forward to future in-depth cooperation in international exchanges and science popularization.

The “Belt and Road” Science Popularization Exhibition will be held both online and offline to offer the public two options.
