Professor Fan, as a well-known economist and former Deputy Secretary General of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), was invited as a special guest for the lecture to introduce "A sound promotion of China's economy during the normalized epidemic prevention and control". The lecture was presented via Bilibili and Huya on June 2, and nearly 50,000 netizens watched it online and praised it highly.

Since Professor Fan has long been engaged in the study of macro economy and regional development planning, from the perspective of the challenges faced by China's economic development, he introduced the basic principles of coping with COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control, economic and social development, and the principle of stimulating the potential of domestic demand; he analyzed China's economic, political and social advantages when striving for positive economic development, and interpreted seven key measures and supporting systems, such as realizing poverty alleviation completely and speeding up the construction of major projects.

This lecture is the sixth one in a series of international forum on "The Coronavirus Pandemic & Global Changes" jointly launched by BJAST and Cambridge China Centre, with Li Junkai, Director of the Division of International Cooperation of BJAST, as the host.
