The "2019 Beijing International Scientific and Technological Cooperation and Innovation Development Forum", hosted by the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, supported by the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet (EPU) and organized by the Beijing Exchange Center of Science and Technology, opened from November 21 to 22. More than 100 representatives from the Austria Embassy in China and other fields attended the forum. Shao Jinwen and Liu Qingjun, Vice Presidents of the BJAST, were among the participants of the forum. Li Junkai, Director of the Foreign Cooperation Division, was the moderator of the forum.

The forum, under the theme of "pooling wisdom and joint efforts to promote international exchange" and with the topic of "innovation and development of international scientific and technological cooperation", attracted the attention of domestic and foreign scientific and technological organizations, scientific research institutions, think tanks and enterprises. Liu Qingjun, Vice President of the BJAST, and Martin Glatz, Representative of Austrian Federal Economic Chamber in China, delivered speeches respectively.

Liu Qingjun indicated that he hoped that this forum would better pool the strength of China and foreign countries, draw on international wisdom, and push the international scientific and technological cooperation between the two sides to a new height.

Martin Glatz mentioned that scientific and technological cooperation must ultimately be reflected in the output, strengthening international scientific and technological cooperation and commercial cooperation is our common expectation and hopes to strengthen cooperation between China and Austria in the future.

At the forum, Shao Jinwen, Secretary General of The Institute Alliance of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and Vice President of the BJAST, signed a memorandum of cooperation with Professor Wolf-Dieter Rausch, Chairman of the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet (EPU); Huang Lin, Deputy Director of the Beijing Exchange Center of Science and Technology, and Professor Rausch of the EPU signed a co-construction agreement on the "EPU Beijing Office". Vice President Liu Qingjun and Professor Rausch unveiled the EPU Beijing Office.

The forum invited representatives of domestic and foreign scientific and technological organizations, scientific research institutions such as the University of Cape Town in South Africa, think tanks and enterprises to deliver keynote speeches successively.
