On 19^th November, the 24th National Exhibition of Invention opened in Foshan, Guangdong. With the theme of "Invention and Innovation, Mutual Benefit and Win-win", more than 2,000 invention and innovation projects of more than 5,000 people from more than 800 companies, universities and research institutes across the country participated this year's exhibition. The project "Analysis Solution for Mineral Oil Pollutants in Food" from Beijing Center for Physical & Chemical Analysis won the Gold Medal of the National Exhibition of Inventions and was commended by the China Association of Invention.

The project uses chromatographic and spectral analysis techniques to develop detection methods for mineral oil impurities in food and supporting solid phase extraction columns. It belongs to the introduction, absorption and re-innovation of a number of complex integrated innovation technologies. The related achievements have published many international papers, obtained 2 patent authorizations, and formed 1 national standard and 2 industry standards (in the submission stage). At present, this achievement has developed supporting solutions for different food substrates, and has reached international standards, which will continue to provide corresponding training and testing services for enterprises and customers in the fields of food, medicine, petrochemicals, etc.
