On May 25th, Fang Li, Secretary of the leading party members’ group of the BJAST, visited the Beijing Planetarium to carry out thematic education research, learn about the science popularization work, and exchange with leaders of the planetarium around the comprehensive improvement of the venue.

Fang Li visited the theme exhibition of "Observation and Time" telling the development achievements of ancient astronomy in China and the exhibition of 130 Observatory reflecting the early work of the planetarium. Fang Li pointed out that the planetarium should enhance awareness to subtly display the brilliant achievements of ancient Chinese astronomy and the glorious course of the vigorous development of New China, tell Chinese stories well, and strengthen cultural self-confidence in a well-planned way. It is necessary to do a good job in research, clear its position, integrate resources, take astronomy as the starting point, and strive to improve the scientific quality of the public and promote the scientific spirit. In terms of venue construction, it is necessary to continuously enhance the capacity of science popularization, improve the service level, take "domestic leading and world-class" as the positioning, maintain the constant and stable development of the venue, strive to do a good job in brand projects such as the Astronomy International Olympiad, and make a Chinese voice on the international stage.
