On May 11th, Fang Li, Secretary of the leading party members’ group of the BJAST, went to the Yongfeng Modern Manufacturing Technology Industrial Park of the BJAST to carry out research and learn about the construction of the cutting-edge technology scientific research conditions platform. Wei Wanshun, member of the leading party members’ group and vice president of the academy, and Zhang Shangqiang, head of the Thematic Education of the Municipal Party Committee, participated in the event.

Fang Li held an on-site scheduling meeting on the progress of cutting-edge technology research and development of the three new institutes including Institute of New Materials and Advanced Manufacturing, Institute of Information and Artificial Intelligence Technology, and Institute of Biotechnology and Health with their construction progress. The meeting also involved study on the measures and paths to solve the problems and difficulties encountered in related work, and clarification of the time schedule of key tasks.

Fang Li pointed out that the establishment of the Cutting-edge Technology Innovation Center is an important measure for BJAST to implement Zhongguancun New Round Pilot Reform. It is necessary to conscientiously implement the deployment requirements of the central and municipal party committees and governments for the construction of the Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center, and give full play to the reform pilot role of the Cutting-edge Technology Center.
