On July 28, BJAST held a media communication meeting on "Learning and Implementing the Spirit of the 13th Party Congress in Beijing, Integrating into the Construction of Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center and Serving the Development of the Capital in the New Era". Wu Jianmin, Deputy Secretary of Leading Party Members’ Group and President of BJAST, delivered a speech, and Liu Ziliang, a leader of the BJAST, presided over the meeting. Representatives from nearly 20 media including Xinhua News Agency, Guangming Daily, Science and Technology Daily, Science Popularization Times, China Science News, Economic Reference News, Beijing Daily, Beijing Science and technology News, People's Daily, Xinhuanet, China Science Popularization Network, Frontline Magazine, and Beijing Radio and Television Station attended the meeting.

Wu Jianmin introduced the reform, innovation and development of BJAST in the past five years, the method, positioning, objectives and key tasks of integrating Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center and serving the development of the capital in the new era in the next five years, as well as the scientific research achievements and innovation progress made by the subordinate units of the BJAST. He invites the media to visit subordinate units, laboratories and scientific and technological innovation bases of the BJAST in the future, and report more on the scientific and technological personnel, scientific research achievements, transformation, application and innovation progress.
