On 26^th of September, the 4^th Beijing International Milu Culture Conference of the "Looking Back on the Resurrection of Deer in One Hundred Years and Setting Off on a New Journey in Cultural Industry" jointly organized by the BJAST, Beijing Forestry and Grassland Bureau, China Wildlife Conservation Association, Beijing Municipal Forestry and Parks Bureau, Daxing District People's Government of Beijing Municipality, etc.

Zheng Huanmin, the deputy secretary of the leading party members’ group and the president of the BJAST, said in his speech that the BJAST is willing to deepen exchanges and strengthen cooperation with all parties, firmly grasp the opportunity of Beijing's construction of a national cultural center and an international scientific and technological innovation center, and actively expand the milu population. Ecological protection science education function, actively explore new types of ecological protection models such as "Milu National Park" and "Beijing Ecological Museum", and continue to promote the inheritance and development of milu ecological culture.

Shao Heng, the secretary and director of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Daxing District People’s Congress, said in his speech that the milu had accumulated rich cultural value with its long history. In the future, Daxing will also use the “culture + ”model to jointly promote the development of the milu cultural industry. Wu Zhongze, the second-level inspector of the National Forestry and Grassland Wildlife Protection Department, expressed the hope that more social forces can be gathered to promote the protection of milu and wildlife. Guo Lixin, the deputy secretary-general of China Wildlife Conservation Association, expressed the hope that by holding this event, we could fully tap the cultural value carried by the milu, build a harmonious milu ecological cultural system between man and nature, and better provide ideological guarantee, spiritual motivation and intellectual support for the protection of milu and even the construction of ecological civilization.

On the scene of the conference, Elizabeth Murema, the executive secretary of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, Jane Goodall ,the British biologist and animal behaviorist, and British international biodiversity conservation experts addressed the conference.

Bai Jiade, the secretary of the Party branch and director of the Beijing Milu Ecological Research Center, officially released the "Technical Specifications for Milu Feeding and Management".

At the launching ceremony of the cooperation between Beijing Daxing and Shanxi Datong Sanggan River Wetland Elk Habitat, Shao Jinwen, the member of the leading party members’ group and the vice president of BJAST and other leaders jointly pressed the launch button. Beijing Milu Ecological Research Center and Datong Sanggan River National Wetland Park achieved the intention of transporting milu.

The opening ceremony of the documentary "The Milu Crossing the Edge of Extinction" was held at the conference site. The "Deer and Heron" IP was officially released and brand enterprises and municipal institutions were authorized to carry out market-oriented development. Milu Culture and "Deer and Heron" IP Theme Tour Exhibition kicked off. The Milu Cultural and Creative District opened lively, the citizens could buy souvenirs directly.

More than 100 experts and scholars from the fields of milu protection, biodiversity protection, and popular science dissemination attended the meeting.
