On March 24th, the first lecture of the 2021 "BJAST Lecture Hall" was held. Researcher Lv Zheng, the member of the general office of academic divisions of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and deputy director of the Economics Department of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, was invited as the first guest of the BJAST Lecture Hall and brought a report entitled "Innovation Drives the High-quality Development of Manufacturing Industry". Fang Li, secretary of the leading party members’ group, met and talked with the commissioner Lv Zheng, and participated in the report meeting throughout the process. Wang Li, deputy secretary of the leading party members’ group of the institute, presided over the lecture.

At the meeting, Commissioner Lv Zheng shared the several issues about innovation-driven high-quality development of manufacturing industry from the perspective of economics. From 10 aspects including China as a major industrial producer, he expounded the domestic and international situation facing our country’s high-quality development of manufacturing industry challenges and development paths.

Wang Li pointed out that the report is very helpful for us to deeply understand General Secretary, Xi Jinping's important expositions on high-quality development, scientific and technological innovation, especially scientific and technological self-reliance. It is necessary to vigorously stimulate the scientific and technological innovation power of the BJAST, and make due contributions to serving the high-quality development of the capital and the construction of the International Scientific and Technological Innovation Center.
