The "Cleaner Production Evaluation Index System for the Accommodation and Catering Industry" (hereinafter referred to as the "Indicator System") formulated by the Environmental Protection Research Institute of Light Industry was officially promulgated and implemented on December 31, 2020.

In recent years, Environmental Protection Research Institute of Light Industry has focused on the difficult issues of green development in the capital, combined with its own advantages, and actively carried out research work. In response to the main problems in the green development of the accommodation and catering industry, the Environmental Protection Research Institute of Light Industry has carried out a large number of studies in waste classification, resource utilization of kitchen waste, and catering oil fume management. At the same time, the relevant scientific research results were standardized to provide intellectual support for government decision-making and enterprise technological transformation.

During the construction period of Beijing "Service Industry Cleaner Production Pilot City", the Environmental Protection Research Institute of Light Industry took the lead in formulating the "Cleaner Production Evaluation Index System Accommodation and Catering Industry" (DB 11/T 1260-2015), which effectively promoted the clean production of Beijing's accommodation and catering industry standardized development of technology and management requirements. As of the end of 2020, more than 50 accommodation and catering companies in Beijing have passed cleaner production audits and have achieved significant energy-saving and emission-reduction effects by improving technologies and processes, using clean energy and raw materials, and improving resource utilization efficiency.

On this basis, the Environmental Protection Research Institute of Light Industry formulated the "Cleaner Production Evaluation Index System for the Accommodation and Catering Industry". The promulgation and implementation of the "Index System" will further promote the green, circular and low-carbon development of the accommodation and catering industry.
