On July 15, the Beijing Institute of Science and Technology Information held a seminar on core competitiveness. The participants discussed the theme of "Composition of Core Competitiveness and How to Enhance Core Competitiveness". Fang Li, Secretary of Party Committee of the Academy, attended the meeting.

In front of the large screen of the Information Institute, Mr. Fang made an on-the-spot investigation on the construction and operation of the "seven platforms" such as the Key Laboratory of Competitive Intelligence and Innovation Evaluation, and listened to the reports on the work performance, reform and development ideas and thoughts of the Information Institute in recent years. Next, the heads of the Information Resources Department and other departments reported on the general situation of the departments respectively and discussed the topic selection mechanism of think tanks.

Mr. Fang stressed that in order to find a correct position and improve its core competitiveness, the Information Institute shall: (I) lay a solid foundation and strengthen the academic and theoretical research of intelligence; (II) improve its ability to serve decision-making; (III) give full play to the public service function of scientific and technological information in the science and technology innovation eco-chain; (IV) make good use of scientific and technological incentive policies.
