From October 15 to 18, Zhu Wei, Director of the Beijing Research Center of Urban System Engineering, led a delegation to Athens, Greece, to attend the "7^th International Conference on Risk Analysis and Crisis Response". Sponsored by the Society for Risk Analysis, and organized by the National Center for Scientific Research "Demokritos" (NCSRD), the conference was attended by nearly 100 experts and scholars from China, Greece, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan and other countries. The conference set up a number of sub-forums, including 18 topics such as data-based applied risk science.

In his report, "Risk factors analysis for falls among the urban elderly in Beijing, China", at the conference, Zhu Wei introduced the latest research results of the Center on the fall risk of the elderly, and presided over a sub-forum on earthquake disasters and resilient city construction. Dr. Shen Chunming of the Center Of Urban System Engineering presented a report entitled "Gephi network analysis method for determining assessment indexes of extreme high temperature weather risk about electric power system- a case study of Beijing City", introducing the research results of the risk assessment method of power energy system affected by environmental change. A report of Dr. Liu Mengting of the Center Of Urban System Engineering, "Research on risk assessment methods of urban disaster chain during the Beijing Winter Olympics", talked about the research results of the Scientific and Technological Winter Olympics Project and the risk assessment method of urban disaster chain based on urban infrastructure accidents caused by natural disasters.

Experts and scholars attending the conference came from different countries and disciplines to learn from each other and exchange advanced theories, practices, methods and technologies in the fields of risk analysis, crisis response and disaster reduction.
