Recently, the BJAST held the International Work Promotion Conference and “The Belt and Road Initiative” Science and Technology Cooperation Seminar. A total of more than 180 people attended the meeting, including the leadership of the BJAST, the heads of its institutions and affiliated units, and representatives of key scientific research personnel. Wu Suhai, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Expert Services of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, Yang Beibei, Deputy Director of Beijing Daxing District People's Government, and other guests of the International and Regional Scientific and Technological Cooperation Branch of Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission attended the meeting.

Fang Li, Secretary of the Party Committee of the BJAST, stressed in his opening speech that the meeting was held during the theme education of “Remain true to your original aspiration, stay true to the mission”. We should deeply understand the general requirements of “keeping the original aspiration, undertaking the mission, finding the gap, and grasping the implementation”. We should strive to achieve the specific goals of “reaping the fruits of theoretical study, being baptized in ideological and political education, being courageous in starting a business, serving the people by solving their difficult problems, and being honest and upright to set an example”, and strive to do a good job in internationalizing the BJAST. He asked the BJAST to work closely around the center of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, implement the “first good standard” and push forward the internationalization work of the BJAST to continuously open up new prospects.

At the opening ceremony, participants witnessed the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between the BJAST and the consortium of Brazilian National Association for Trade in Services, the unveiling of "the Belt and Road Initiative International Cooperation Base" and "the Belt and Road Initiative" Risk and Safety Research Center of Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (Beijing), and the launch of the Beijing International Technology Transfer Platform of BJAST. Vice President Liu Qingjun made a report entitled Implementing the Strategy of Opening up the Academy, Promoting International Scientific and Technological Cooperation and Striving to Build an International First-Class Scientific and Technological Innovation Institution. During the conference, delegates were also asked for their opinions on the Opinions of Beijing Academy of Science and Technology on Strengthening International Scientific and Technological Cooperation, “The Belt and Road Initiative” International Scientific and Technological Cooperation Plan of Beijing Academy of Science and Technology and related management systems. Representatives of affiliated institutions of the BJAST shared their work experience and representatives of the “six centers” reported on their ideas for future work.

On the second day of the conference, researcher Chen Baoming, member of the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development, and researcher Liu Hui, vice president of the China Academy of Belt and Road Initiative of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, made special presentations respectively.

President Guo Guangsheng made a concluding speech entitled Adhering to the Original Aspiration and Starting Again, Bravely Undertaking the Mission to Create Brilliance and Making New Contributions to the Construction of a National Center for Science and Technology Innovation with Global Influence. He stressed that the brand influence of BJAST should be continuously improved, the core clear competitiveness should be cultivated, the consistent execution should be built, and the attention of “The Belt and Road Initiative” should be focused. He also called on the BJAST to make further efforts in the internationalization of scientific and technological innovation, to contribute new strength to Beijing's construction of the National Center for Science and Technology Innovation with global influence, and to jointly write a more brilliant tomorrow for the BJAST.

On the eve of the conference, the BJAST invited the media to hold “The Belt and Road Initiative” media communication meeting on international scientific and technological cooperation at the Beijing Municipal Institute of Labor Protection under the Academy. Wang Li, deputy secretary of the BJAST, introduced the overall situation of “The Belt and Road Initiative” international scientific and technological cooperation of the BJAST. The head of the relevant department of the Beijing Municipal Institute of Labor Protection and Olivier Salvi, general manager of the Development Department of the INERIS, introduced contents about “The Belt and Road Initiative” and “Risk Management” and so on respectively. Science and Technology Daily and Beijing TV Station and other media reported the media communication meeting.
