Recently, the website of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China publicized the 2018 project arrangement for key projects of the national key research and development plan. The two key projects of “Active Health and Technological Response to Aging” declared by Beijing Research Center of Urban System Engineering have been approved through publicity and entered the phase of signing the task book.

Beijing Research Center of Urban System Engineering undertook the task of “Research on Home Safety Monitoring/Early Warning Equipment and Formulation of Anti-fall Configuration Scheme in Home Environment” in Project 4 “Research and Development of Early Warning and Protection Key Technologies and Equipment for Elderly Fall Facing External Causes of Elderly Fall” led by Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences. The center also participated in the task of “Research and Development of Small Mobile Shared Service Equipment for the Elderly” in Project 3 “Research and Development of Common Technologies and Shared Key Equipment Combining Medical Resources and Endowment Resources” led by Xiangya Hospital of Central South University.

This is the first time that the center has received the support of the national key research and development plan in the field of aging science and technology. With the financial support of the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, the scientific research conditions and competitive strength in this field have reached a new level.  Through the project research, the cooperation between the center and domestic advantageous units in the field of aging science and technology will be greatly strengthened, the research level that meets the needs of the construction of super-large city governance system will be improved, and the team will be encouraged to strive for a series of higher-level scientific research results to provide scientific and technological support for actively coping with the aging population.
