On July 7, the Handover Ceremony of 219 fossils and biological products, the largest batch confiscated by Beijing Customs according to law was held at the Beijing Museum of Natural History. Fang Li, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group of the BJAST, and Yin Pengfei, Director of the Political Department of Beijing Customs, Member of the Party committee and first-class Inspector, attended the ceremony. Li Li, Secretary of the Party committee of the museum, presided over the ceremony. Meng Qingjin, Director of the museum, and Cheng Lin, Deputy Director of the Finance Department of Beijing Customs, signed the handover documents on behalf of both sides.

This handover is of "exemplary law enforcement" significance. Taking advantages of the complete collection conditions and strong scientific research and popular science ability of the Beijing Museum of Natural History, these specimens can play a better role in exhibition, scientific research, popular science education and other aspects. The two sides will continue to cooperate closely in the identification, protection and publicity of confiscated fossils and biological products, inject impetus into the protection of natural resources and the high-quality development of museums in the new era, and make efforts to improve the public scientific and cultural literacy.
