The team of Wei Wenxia from Institute of Environment and Resources of the BJAST won the 2021 Second Science and Technology Advancement Prize of All-China Environment Federation’s Science and Technology Award for its project “Integrated Technology, Equipment and Application of Collaborative Restoration of Organic Contaminated Site Soil and Groundwater”, which is a jointly completed project with Yuhuan Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., Tianjin University, North China Electric Power University, Hebei Provincial Academy of Ecological Environmental Science and other institutions.

The project has obtained 46 independent intellectual property rights, including 3 international patents and 19 Chinese invention patents. 66 research papers were published, including 28 SCI papers. In the past three years, more than 20 restoration projects were undertaken, with a cumulative new sales volume of 1.215 billion yuan and economic benefits of 277 million yuan.

The Institute of Environment and Resources will further consolidate and enhance the ecological and environmental protection advantages in the development orientation of the BJAST, focus on the research and development and application of contaminated soil and groundwater remediation technology, accelerate the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation with the development of environmental protection industry, and continue to promote the implementation and transformation of major scientific and technological achievements of the institute. It will make greater contributions in integrating into the construction of Beijing international science and technology innovation center and serving the high-quality development of the capital in the new era.
