• 2021 International Competition of Autonomous Running Robots is Successfully Held in Beijing

  • From 15th to17th of October, the 2021 International Competition of Autonomous Running Robots, hosted by the Beijing Association for Science and Technology, supported by BJAST, and organized by the Beijing Institute of Electronics, etc. was held at the Beijing Science Center. The competition focused on "seeing who can domesticate smarter robots" and it attracted a total of 110 teams from relevant universities in the UK, Germany, Russia, Pakistan and well-known domestic universities such as Tsinghua University in the field of artificial intelligence.

    Representatives of relevant universities and institutions in South Korea and other countries sent video congratulations to the competition. Wang Zhihua, the executive chairman of the competition, the fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the professor of Tsinghua University, and the vice chairman of the Beijing Institute of Electronics, delivered the opening speech. Shen Jie, the secretary of the leading party members’ group of Beijing Association for Science and Technology, and Fang Li, the party secretary of the leading party members’ group of the BJAST, jointly launched the competition. Meng Fanxing, the member of the leading party members’ group and the vice chairman of Beijing Association for Science and Technology, presided over the opening ceremony. Liu Qingjun, the deputy president and researcher of the BJAST, attended the closing ceremony of the competition and issued certificates to the winning teams.

    The competition invited Academician Ni Guangnan, the executive president of the Institute of Machine Intelligence of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, and Professor Li Qing to give keynote speeches on "From a Large Open Source Country to a Powerful Open Source Country" and "Walking Learning-From Mathematics, AI to Robots". This competition set up an Entrepreneurship Forum to invite experts from startups and investment institutions in science and technology field such as the TusStar to conduct special reports and exchanges.
