On December 23, the Second Congress of the Innovation Method Society and the Seminar on the Innovation Method was held in Beijing. Xu Guanhua, former Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology and other leaders attended the meeting and a new council was elected in the congress. BJAST is the president unit of the Special Committee of Scientific Tools under the Innovation Method Society, Guo Guangsheng attended the meeting on behalf of the president unit.

Seminar on Innovation of Scientific Tools undertook by the second-level unit, Beijing Center for Physical & Chemical Analysis under the entrustment of BJAST and organized by BJAST was held at the same time. Nearly 40 representatives from research institutes, universities, industry associations and many member units of Special Committee of Scientific Tools of Innovation Method Society attended the meeting. Guo Guangsheng put forward opinions and suggestions on the future work of the Special Committee of Scientific Tools of Innovation Method Society and placed great hopes on the future development.

Professor Lin Jinming from Tsinghua University and other representatives made reports on the work of production, education, research and application of scientific tools. In the end, the participants conducted a heated discussion on the development of innovative methods and scientific tools industry and formed the “Report on the Work Suggestions for Special Committee of Scientific Tools of Innovation Method Society”, which was submitted to the Innovation Method Society for review.
