The 9^th International Forum of “Innovation Beijing” (2018) organized by BJAST and undertaken by Beijing Research Center for Science of Science was held from November 1 to 2.

With the theme of “focusing on the innovation system construction and leading high-quality economic development”, the forum was guided and supported by Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, Management Committee of Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park and Beijing Intellectual Property Office. More than 200 government officials, experts, scholars and business representatives from China, Germany and other countries attended the forum. Shao Jinwen, Vice President of BJAST, presided over the opening ceremony.

Guo Guangsheng, President of BJAST attended the forum and delivered a speech. He pointed out that the forum, as an important exchange platform of the scientific and technological innovation think tank of BJAST, is an important carrier for BJAST to fully participate in the construction of national science and technology innovation center, which is of great significance for gathering global wisdom, leading innovative ideas and serving the construction of the national scientific and technological innovation center. The scientific and technological innovation think tank of BJAST aims at directly serving for the nation and decisions of the municipal party committee and the municipal government, making great efforts to provide intelligence support and contribute thought power for the construction of national scientific and technological innovation center and the high-quality development of Beijing.

19 experts and scholars at home and abroad including Qi Ren, Deputy Chairman of the CPPCC Committee on Population Resources and Environment, Liu Yuxin, Deputy Director of the General Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Zhai Lixin, Director of the Management Committee of Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, et al. made speeches.

The participants hoped that the forum will serve as a high-end dialogue platform for international scientific and technological innovation to bring more intellectual support for the development of China’s scientific and technological innovation.
