• Beijing Museum of Natural History and Beijing Planetarium Organized the first “The Belt and Road” International Symposium of Development of Science Museums

    On November 27th, the first “The Belt and Road” International Symposium of Development of Science Museums hosted by Chinese Association of Natural Science Museums, jointly undertook by Chinese Science And Technology Museums and Shanghai Science & Technology Museums, organized by The Geological Museum of China, Beijing Museum of Natural History (BMNH) and Beijing Planetarium, was held in Beijing. There are 22 countries and 24 science museums from countries along “The Belt and Road” and 74 science museums from China have attended the meeting with 130 leaders in charge, who have carried out the discussion on “The Belt and Road” national science museum development. Guo Guangsheng, President of BJAST, has attended the opening ceremony.

    The signing ceremony of “mutual sharing of popular science resources” was held at the opening ceremony, which including 11 agreements. BMNH has signed agreement with Petrosains, the Discovery Centre, and Beijing Planetarium has signed agreement with Cozumel Planetarium of Mexico. President Guo Guangsheng and Huai Jinpeng,  Party Secretary, Vice President and first Secretary of Secretariat of China Association for Science and Technology have witnessed the signing ceremony of the two agreement. Beijing Science and Technology Exchange Center with Foreign Countries has promoted the cooperation between Petrosains, the Discovery Centre and BMNH in the framework of BJAST and Petrosains.

    During 27~30 November, there are small exhibitions displaying at the Chinese Science and Technology Museums. BMNH, Beijing Planetarium and Beijing Milu Ecological Research Center have attended the exhibition.
