China Cleaner Production Center of Light Industry is a consultant organization of clean production in Light Industry accredited by National Development and Reform Commission and is among the first experimental units of clean production checking organization approved by State Environmental Protection Administration. What’s more, it has been one of the publically chosen and employed organizations on clean production checking and consultancy by Development and Reform Commission and Environment Protection Bureau of Beijing Municipality for three years consecutively from 2005 to 2007. 

The Center has long been devoted to techniques of energy-saving and environment protection and research and development of related products, as well as clean production checking and training. It is responsible for the formulation of clean production standards in the fields of leather production, paper making, batteries, compound leather, starch, MSG and drinks. It has been engaged in many international clean production programs, like Sino-Canadian clean production cooperative program, NIEM program of UNPE and Program of “promoting the clean production in China through loans from the World Bank” etc.
